Grey Place II

With a busy career in the video game industry, two teenage boys and lots of sports and volunteer activities, our clients needed a comfortable home where they could host family and friends, spend time together as a family and have space for their own creative endeavors. We teamed up with them to furnish their home with pieces that seamlessly blend their individual styles.

This project came to us with freshly painted interiors and a few “we aren’t changing” things on the list so we set about designing a space that blended the existing Mediterranean style staircase and the existing flooring and wall color into an eclectic transitional space.

His and her offices are tucked away at the back of the home and reflect the client’s own personalities. The large open living and dining room was designed to accommodate lots of family and friends and encourage conversation between those seated at the dining table, and those lounging in the living space. The color palette derives from the clients love of the ocean which we splashed across the room with rugs and a wallpapered ceiling. The family room goes golden in the afternoon light that spills into this room reflecting off the brass bunching cubes that store all the things you need but don’t want to see! We provided plenty of seating for this family of four to cozy up for movies.

You can imagine how important a media room is for someone in the gaming industry and this one gets lots of use. We placed a large sectional for plenty of seating and a bar table for snacks. The built-in console behind the sectional is designed for the durability you need when you have teenagers that come with lots of friends. We used black out shades to make the room usable day and night for movies and gaming.
