We had previously designed a primary bedroom for these clients. When they sold that house and purchased a larger home, they left behind everything except the primary bedroom furnishings from their old home and called us in to design their new space. Their new home had great space but definitely needed a clean slate. We replaced the flooring, fireplace façade, painted the walls, changed out the stair rail with a custom design and added lots of custom design elements to create the contemporary space they were envisioning. Our clients were set on large format tile for the first floor. With such high ceilings in a large space, we are always concerned with sound. To combat that, we added large area rugs, carpet on the stairs, soft furnishings and drapery to soak up sound.
This is a home for adults who love to entertain around wine and their own brand of tequila, Rodeo De Las Aquas. With the husband’s passion for wine, this new home provided the opportunity to turn a spare room into a climate controlled wine room, which was a totally cool (no pun intended) first for us! Having grown up in Las Vegas, and the music industry, this home was all about sophisticated contemporary design with just a touch of glamour!
